KNOW, GROW and FLOW through life
The principles you live by create the world you live in; if you change the principles you live by, you will change your world.
~ Blaine Lee ~
Do you get so overwhelmed by the details that you lose sight of the big picture?
If so, the 'Evolving Essences' journaling tool might bring you relief and clarity.
It's quite simple. Rather than focusing on the tasks and materials you need to reach
a goal, you identity the qualities or states that will take you there.
Here is an example:
I was locked into a busy cycle. I knew I had to find more space and then some inner
calm so I could make bigger decisions and be in control of my time. This would allow
me to open doors for my new projects.
Looking at my situation in terms of qualities, I could see this path:
busyness - space - calmness - decision making - control - my new business.
As I focus on each one, I naturally have a sense of what I need to do to bring it into being.
You can also do this with numbers such as dollars or weight:
weight - 200 - 198 - 196 - 194 - 192 - 190 - 188
Every week as I review my "Evolving Essence Page", I put a vertical mark (coloured or dated) next to my word or number and I can then see my progress or lack of it.
Below are a few other Evolving Essences that identify clear steps on your journey.
AWARENESS - numb - 5 senses - thoughts and emotions - imagination - ideals
and ideas - intuition - being
MY FOCUS on - me– family - community - environment - country - race -
humanity
Put them all on one page and you have a new way of setting and tracking your goals.
We tend to be more motivated when we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and a clear path to get there. When we view life more through attitudes and virtues than tasks, it doesn't feel so burdensome. When we focus on a few big steps, we are less likely to get lost in the small stuff of life.
