Do you sense that something is missing in your life? Chances are, you are experiencing the lack of soul in your world.
What is soul? Our minds may want to understand soul as an entity. Andrew Schneider says that “soul is who we are as incarnated Spirit, …who we are as consciousness.” Our personality, he
says, is who we are as matter or form. Soul is the bridge that links universal spirit that is the essence of all life with our unique personality.
Our hearts know soul as a quality of being. Soul thrives on connection. And doesn’t this make sense? If the path of soul is the journey back to the Oneness of our source, then anything that
bridges separation, that promotes unity, will lead us home.
How do we experience soul in our lives? It’s so simple! Whenever we stop and pay attention, whenever we are present and conscious, then soul emerges. Schneider says, “Paying attention means sensing deeply and sensitively what the reality is and what my relationship is to that reality.”
We can connect with soul anytime and anywhere because spirit is present in all forms. Our challenge is to bring consciousness to our experience, for soul will not be present unless we are truly present to what’s happening.
To easily experience soul, find something you love to do and immerse yourself in it. Consciously savour a favourite piece of music. Consciously enjoy a walk in nature. Really experience your
breathing and the pounding of your heart as you exercise. Really be present to your partner, your kids, your pet or another, and you will know the contentment of soul.
